On the substantive point: Do you think "research" should not be there? It's a disjunction, so it doesn't require that anyone in particular do that. But if someone is doing important research on the topic, should it be irrelevant to evaluating their contribution to diversity?

I suppose I think it’s inappropriate to practically measure the value of theoretical work. Important research on diversity might not *promote* diversity, and the suggestion that it should could skew research. But it’s a good question I need to think more about!

From a viewpoint of personal moral psychology, I find the document quite helpful. It nicely illustrates the process of moving from a superficial virtue signaling level of social justice (1-2) to a comprehensive familiarity (3) to an integrated understanding and appreciation (4-5)
