I feel like if the level's some kind of outdoors desert or something like that itd be better to give it a natural feel by making it generate itself but when it's something such as a dungeon, making it yourself feels way more natural in the way that it was actually made by someone

Even rouglikes need good leveldesign random generation doesnt excuse badly designed pices that get thrown together to form the map

Should be more than just top-down (Risk of Rain 2 is third person with different classes and certainly my favorite of any I've played) Need to move past a procedurally generated structure (sure a set design can get old, but seeing every set piece is worse)
