I wouldn't do it unless it would be as interesting as Sekiro's parry system. So save it for the sequel/dlc/spiritual successor.

: May not have communicated my intent as clearly as I thought.
I want more games where every mechanic has been thought through thoroughly and can't be removed without completely changing how the game works. -
Adding blocking/parrying without enemies or encounters that teach the player the nuances of the mechanic seems like adding fat to an otherwise lean experience IMO.
