1/ @AfghanistanIHRC stresses on ensuring all the rights of women. The rights of women must be a priority during the peace talks, in the prospect peace agreement, and in the process of enforcing the peace agreement.

2/ Women’s meaningful political participation and their role at the peace negotiation table must be strengthened. The role of women must not be limited as negotiators only, but also as mediators and signatories.

3/ The 9% women participation in the peace negotiations is limited to Afghan govt’s team only. A 2019 national inquiry by @AfghanistanIHRC showed that 72% of respondents were not satisfied with level of women participation in the peace talks & called for a more inclusive process.

4/ In addition to being victimized in suicide attacks, airstrikes, or various forms of family violence, many women are robbed of their right to life by target killings or extrajudicial trials.

5/ Considering European Union’s emphasis on women participation in the peace talks, a mechanism should be developed to link Afghan women activists to global women peacemakers.
