What exactly makes someone simple or complex? I find people often use complex to mean inconsistent or self-contradictory. Is that what you're talking about here?

I think people will be reluctant to say “I prefer simple people,” as it has a negative connotation. So it might help if there were a way to measure this indirectly.

I honestly don't know how to answer the second half of this. I am very liberal when it comes to social policy and very conservative when it comes to economic policy. I'm deep in the anarchist quadrant.
