's Purple Wine Bar in late 2015 in Bellevue. It was part of a set of wines meant to be 'super earthy', all with strong tones I associate with mud. Its name was a long single french word written across a (mostly?) blank white label
I would probably remember the word if I saw it. I think maybe it started with 'a' but I'm not sure. It tasted like I was eating mud and old leaves and it was fucking incredible
I bought a bottle to take home with me and took a picture of the label, but I moved away and my phone died and now I only have faint, delicious memories
i think these tweets are a cry for help to find this wine once more. Do wines stop existing? Are there wine lines that run out? I'm terrified to search because I don't want to find out it's disappeared from this world.
If you think you would recognize the label, it obviously isn't available in your area. If you can't find it online you'll probably have to return to the area you tasted it in.
). Yes, some wines do stop existing but it's not common. There aren't as lot of French reds that start with an "A" and in France the label is usually the winery name, not the grape name.
Sister girl just by the way you talk about the wine I really want to try Don't Be Afraid looking internet search for you wine you find your wine and you share the name please share the name so I can try that too
I adore Rhone blend wines although probably my favourite all time wines are Beaujolais-Villages (Gamay Grape) esp by Louis Jadot. I will find & try this Saint-Chinian wine though I'm not sure I've ever had it/ anything quite like what you described. It's going to be an adventure.
