I met a proper SJW last night at a party. I told her our app will donate to the most effective charities to save the most lives possible, and she was like, "but how do you prevent this from creating a white savior complex?"

I also disagree. You were talking to an evil and selfish person who believes that only her immediate surroundings are worthy of attention, and her reaction to you indicates that she isn't interested in helping anyone, really.
-
I mean, just because someone is illogical and refuses to believe they're at fault ignoring other people's feedback doesn't make them evil and selfish inherently, but they could just cause bad with their good intentions. I do believe she was selfish though, but not evil.

People like that want you to agree with them 100%. To them, anything less means you’re bigoted.

I also dislike this perspective. It reminds me of the way Christians say, "deep down atheists all really know there is a god, they're just hiding it from themselves."

These groups give cash to poor people who spends it the way they like.Paternalism free charity. My real answer is that we will always have poor people but we can limit the distance between rich and poor while making sure the poorest have decent lives and real opportunity
