Women generally score higher in neuroticism and extroversion which would make them more susceptible to loneliness (if we conceptualize loneliness as "negative emotion caused by absence of interpersonal relationships")

I don't think your sex has anything to do with loneliness, we all get lonely at one point in our lives.

I would guess that it's men, since they're socialized to express their emotions less. Friendships between males don't seem as valued as female relationships.
