Because religion is framework that gives you a reason to be good, but astrology is a way to rationalize your flaws.

I think religion usually is more justified. After all, it serves to answer (wrongly, in my opinion, but still) burning questions like where the universe came from, why we exist and the sort. And it provides comfort—wish fulfillment, the promise of an afterlife…

Jugmentality is likely a function of incongruity: things you dislike look less objectionable when they are in harmony with their environment

Mass delusion and peer pressure/conditioning can be powerful. So while I judge theists, I can understand why they might have ended up that way. Adtrologists feel more like they've 'chosen' their illogical path, and for no apparent reason.

Religion actually takes way more critical thought to escape, and has a lot more social weight behind it. Astrology is like, a scam to sell newspapers.

My thoughts exactly, but in far fewer words.

I do. For me, I think it’s because religion has culture and tradition roots that astrology (mostly) doesn’t. One feels like a respectable nod to history, while the other feels like pseudo-spirituality.

I think there's a big difference between saying "well, you know us Taurus, we are impulsive" to saying "gays should all die in hell" I'm disgusted by the idea of a god almighty, more so than just a few trivial things that your birthdate says about you

I'm not totally sure, but I think the majority of people who identify as religious in the US don't think that all gays should die in hell. Not a lot of religions actually believe in hell, and even fewer think that gays should die in it.

If anything, I may be more judgmental of religion. Nobody’s gone to war over astrology as far as I know. But I’m more to each their own, as long as don’t harm others.
