Yeah because those things are actually what people get offended about. The media just makes it out that it's EVERYTHING these days.

I think that's a part of certain types of humor. Poking or generalizing at things that are "sacred". Different regions/cultures/in-groups have their own "funny" boundaries that can be pushed. One topic shocks somewhere, and gets laughs another. There's beauty in that.
