Sometimes I think that 100 or 200 years from now, eating meat will be seen as an abomination on par with genocide or whatever. I say this as someone who definitely enjoys a good steak

Agree with this, and our treatment of animals in general

I think the question itself assumes that things only improve/evolve, that it only gets better with time. Things could change for the worse, then back for the better, or not. There's no guarantees of anything.

While not guaranteed, by many measures, society tends to improve. Despite headlines, overall: crime, hunger, poverty, war, disease, etc. trend down. Other things are worse now, of course, but generally humans learn and do better. Emphasis on "do." https://www.forbes.com/sites/stevedenning/2017/11/30/why-the-world-is-getting-better-why-hardly-anyone-knows-it/ …

We will always "Still" be ignorant, because we come up with new issues to stand upon. You don't even now how normal right now will be fucked up in a decade. You really don't because the change has yet to develop, but it will.

There were not "Sex Workers", now there are. There were not "Artificial Intelligence", there will be. We had not identified ZZZ as a thing, soon, we will have been seen as ZZZ-phobic.

It's both. We know about almost everything, still we ignore it because it seems "easier" or it's not our fault or personal experience. That's the problem.
