The fact that more women than men believe in things I consider 'bottom tier' beliefs - like astrology, crystals, etc. - are confusing, because women have basically the same average scores on IQ tests, right?

Those "bottom tier" beliefs tend to be light hearted and easy. I would say men more vehemetley believe in intense forms of religion.

This resonates well with the Chinese cultural revolution. Mao used young people to "weed out" the adults turning against him.
