The gender imbalance in crypto (17:1 men:women or something?) is super interesting, mostly because there's not really any 'system' with crypto. Anybody can enter, from their own computers, on their own time, and crypto is so new, there weren't really stereotypes about it already.

Not saying this isn't valid, but is it really true that crypto doesn't inherit the stereotypes of fields that feed into it?

You could argue that women are socialized from an early age to avoid tech, and crypto falls under the 'tech' umbrella. This might be true.
I guess the stronger point is that there's no systemic power issues preventing women from entering crypto since it's hyper individualistic

Lite googling. Low confidence. I threw out a number that seemed like an average.

I mean no system as in there are no people in positions of power granting or refusing access. It's not a business or a school - it's more under a 'hobby' umbrella, available for anybody who is interested.

Do you actually believe that I've only now started to recognize this?

is this.... is this mansplaining?
I think the triggery words were "Well, now you're starting to recognize", "It's only what liberals have been saying for decades", and "Check out behavioral economics and the idea that information has costs."
Better phrasing would be not assuming that the other person is ignorant
You can still point out information without framing it as though you are enlightening the ignorant. "What do you think about x fact" or "But this is an objection to your claim!" are perfectly fine.
I think the reason is that only 10% of investors actually understand crypto - 5% men and 5% women. The other 90% are men, because a woman would never invest in something she didn't fully research.
