Just came across at meetluna.com/why. If receiver gets the tokens attached to a priority message then I guarantee that people with hot pics can and will use this as a revenue stream. Instead, they should have to meaningfully reply too.

We absolutely have thought a lot about that. There are two primary methods to make this fair - one, the more compatible you are, the fewer tokens you have to attach. Two, you can see reply rate and quality on the person's profile so you can make an educated decision.

Interesting read, thanks. With KYC and various verification methods you can indeed reduce the likelihood of bots. Gaming the system would then have to happen in a collaborative manner, i.e. more than one colluding party. Certainly an interesting problem to tackle!

Last point. I predict you won’t be able to solve structural issues in online dating such as racial biases, even with behavioural pressure applied via the mechanics of your app. People who get many/few matches now will continue experiencing the same in your app.

We are structuring Luna so that the app itself doesn't treat you any differently based on age, race, gender, orientation, anything. We are identity-agnostic. Our goal, however, is to make compatibility predictions actually good, and have them carry actual impact. That's it.
Right. Since your predictions will be based on user data and behaviour ultimately your app will end up codifying the same structural biases as other existing apps. To be fair, I don't think there is an easy solution to that.
