In one room, a child is about to die. In the other room, an evil demon is about to revert global ideas about gender roles to those of the 1950s.
You can either save the child or kill the demon, but not both. Which do you choose?

you're def right about this, but is the legal status of rape a gender role thing? I thought "traditional gender role" meant something like "cooking in the kitchen," not "rape is legal."

What about all the rapes, women dying in back alley abortions, women killed in domestic abuse, massively smaller economy due to less labor force causing cutbacks that indirectly kill yet more people, etc.? Those aren't reversible. See the big picture not what tugs heartstrings.

If we allow the demon to succeed the creator of this scenario wouldn't be entrusted with the tech to pose the question thus preventing it from ever happening in the first place.

I think even in reality most people choose between "save one more life" and enjoying more liberty every day in their lives, without even knowing it. I do not let "if I can save one child" be a basis for sacrificing any liberty or rights in general.

Demons aren't real. Unfortunately many people would choose to let real people suffer and die while imagining themselves fighting evil.

Interesting, I thought this one was super easy and yet I selected the minority option.
