Do certain facial 'looks' come in and out of fashion? I can't tell if people's preferences for facial structure go through minor fads or if it's just fashion and makeup that's tricking my eye.

Like, the 'hot girl in the last 5 years' feels like a hyper-baby face, with a really tiny nose and prominent under-eyelids. Think Clara Delavigne, Emma Watson, and... I know there's a ton of others I can't think of right now

I feel like overall the shift over the last 20 years has been from longer faces to shorter ones, in women.
Hot 90s men also seemed to have rounder eyes and more pronounced noses.

I can say that there are some face types that used to be my favorite, but no anymore. I still like them, but just not my favorite. There never was a case where I started liking a face type I never liked in the first place.

Yeah, def. With more ethnic representation, beauty is changing. 20 years ago, Oscar Isaac could only have played a terrorist.

Yes there are styles, but as you say, makeup and popular hairstyles contribute too. Certain faces work better with popular styles

I think they do change. I remember around 2000s it was more masculine women and more metro sexual men. Think Kate Moss

I find it interesting how the conversation seems to lean toward "masculine/feminine"
