that being said, sometimes men with a lot of power *are* creepy and pressure women into doing things that are *not consensual.* And maybe that happens here. But the key is, *not consensual*. That's why it's bad. The parties themselves are not consent violations, fuck.

From my reading I didn't see any point where the article made clear that this is an expected part of working in Silicon Valley. Can you please quote?

She cites bisexual behavior among women. Has she considered that women's sexuality might just tend to be more bisexual and that not everything women like to do has to be a 'male-heterosexual fantasy'?

Your perception of my views as made just to appeal to MRA guys feels bad and like you don't consider me to be capable of thought if it disagrees with you. This makes me not want to continue conversation with you because I feel like you view me as an enemy.

I've thrown sex parties before, having an uneven gender ratio really kills the vibe - even still when there's no power imbalance and everyone is super consent oriented. I suspect the qualification discrepancy is simply a result of the surrounding population, not intentional

As a woman in tech who used to be in porn, I've recently experienced a lot of the "Oh, you're sexually open then, right?" sort of pressure from powerful men. And EVEN STILL this article feels super disrespectful and shamey to people who actually like alternative lifestyles.

This piece is stupid. In every culture & industry everywhere there will be a division of people who mix sex and wealth. It’s just the same *everywhere* because people are the same *everywhere*. The media's current 'takedown' of SV is nothing more than virtue signalling clickbait
