I feel like my ability to explore abnormal gendery feelings is really hindered by the whole "any word can mean anything". If the language is so fluid, I don't know what other people actually 'feel like,' and it hurts my ability to connect my feelings with theirs.

Part of what is happening now is people are creating the words they never had before to describe those gendered feelings. It’s an ongoing process, but we do have something where we used to have nothing.

I'm down with making up new words, but the problem is that there's a big pushback against giving concrete definition to those words, because then you might be able to tell someone "No, you aren't actually that thing you identify as."

My understanding of this is that those who are affected by it would prefer a solid definition for things. There may be a subset that thinks any label is oppressive but they aren’t the majority. Labels are useful, especially to those who lack a clear one.
