I'm gonna guess that last one applies even if they are religious but not the same religion. "Sorry little Buddhist child down the street but my parents tell me I'll go to the same hell you're going to if I spend time with you."

Yeah, i should have specified 'nonchristian.' The fear was exposure to secular norms. I didn't know what sex was, or that I had a vagina, or what swear words were, and so exposure to kids who *did* know what that was was limited, supervised, or forbidden
