I'm increasingly coming to think that the 'people don't take sexism against women seriously' vs 'no women are privileged and dramatic' are both true, but depend on what subculture you're in. I wish all arguments about this were prefaced with 'in some worlds...'

So you're suggesting that when making sweeping value judgments we don't try and group as many people as we can into an amorphous blob based on an arbitrary trait, belief, and/or physical appearance? That's crazy talk! How would we block out our moments of creeping self-doubt?

How is that different from prefacing everything with "some people believe"? Because "some people believe X" does not imply that the truth of X is subjective. *Some* people believe that the earth is flat & 6000 years old. Those people are wrong.
