In the middle of the night I woke up with a pain in my ear, that slowly moved to feel like it was behind my back molar, and then it bounced back and forth a few times between tooth and ear before slowly fading away. Wtf was that, am I dying?

ear pain can definitely be a sign of a tooth infection; if a nerve is inflamed due to abscess or other cause it can present exactly like this, I'd get some dental x-rays and/ or see an MD. tooth infections can be deadly by causing heart issues among other things.

but i don't have any pain besides that? Googling tooth abscesses says they tend to be super painful

could be early, it might not be an abscess, perhaps a cavity in a back molar that has reached a point where part of a nerve has become exposed. In any case they tend not to get SUPER painful until pretty advanced; a lot of tooth and gum disease can be mostly painless for years.

I'm not trying to scare you but if you have the means, especially if you experience something like this again (assuming the pain has already subsided) or are still in pain, you could be catching something much more major before it gets really bad.
