Yes. All circumstances across all possible realities probably has some edge cases in this regard.
It can feel very real for the scene. But, I suppose it isn't "real"....but it's still the actions of dehumanizing, which the question was about.

Sometimes you want to pay to engage with someone for a service without having to interact with them on a human level. I don't want to chat when getting my haircut, for example, and will pay more for silent service from someone that I can not have to try to interact with.
