There's a type of person, where if they were a computer, you can't imagine any conceivable set of inputs that would get the output you wanted - with
"output" being "Making you feel like they understand you."
Is there a term for this sort of person?

Can you clarify? Feels like there are 2 versions of this - one is a person deliberately not empathizing to justify bad behavior, another is almost a subcultural barrier, where you're both using words differently.
