You would think a conviction w/o corroborative or physical evidence isn’t possible. But it is in sexual assault cases.
The default position of most people is that people don’t lie about assault so are predisposed from the beginning to believe the complainant.

I do know one person who was truthfully accused (at least in my opinion) but was not found guilty because of a lack of witnesses.
