Does anyone know anything about radiators? My radiator valve isnt doin anything, and it's got a long silver metal tampony thing sticking out

I want to turn it on. There is a red button on the valve but it doesn't seem to compress, and turning knob does nothing

You might have to bleed it. Air can get into the system. There is a little knob on the side that is a bleed valve. Open it very slowly
