I'm growing increasingly skeptical that "the patriarchy" is a good way to view things. Interactions between men and women are super complex.

It's not even wrong. It's so vague and self-contradictory that anything can be blamed on it, even things caused by fighting the patriarchy.

People say patriarchy like it's a bunch of guys sitting around a table. It is a set of unconscious social attitudes that men and women share

I agree with you, AND I also think that the term is still apt for the reasons explained in this long-tweet. All strictly my opinion.

I agree. Both men & women have traditional gender roles they're trying to break out of. patriarchy puts the blame on men instead of society.
