I'm sure some do, and that's fine... But can you see why that statement might have been really offensive?

I don't think offense should get in the way of asking questions. I don't feel any judgment about cultural differences, I'm just curious.

It isn't getting in the way of that. Like I said, unless you have some kind of evidence to support this stereotype, there is no question

If I were on the street with 98% women, and the only 4 people who approached me were men, you wouldn't be asking me for evidence.

What I'm saying is that evidence like that is not enough to prove or even demonstrate any kind of correlation.

My whole life, almost exclusively black men have catcalled me. I don't think this is chance. Maybe, like I said, I'm just hot to them.

Okay, that's great. It's still an anecdote. People swear they see ghosts and talk to god but I don't inherently believe them (1)

that's ok for an informal discussion. But when you bring this as evidence that black people tend to catcall more, which is what you did (2)

In your tweet, and in your follower's responses, it sounds like you are saying you have evidence that blacks catcall WAY more than others

But you don't, and spreading that stereotype without evidence can be dangerous.

I didn't know it was a stereotype until I moved out of my home city and was so confused why black ppl complimented me so much on the street
