I am so torn on this. On one hand, fuck the military draft. On the other hand, would our tune change if we were scared?

if we in a war where U.S. sovereignty was directly in jeopardy we'd hopefully have enough enlistees to make a draft redundant.

That's why they try to manufacture situations which will scare you enough to cede autonomy.

we had the draft during Korean War, Vietnam, didn't make a difference. Volunteer military MUCH more effective however.

I'm totally against compulsion. On the other hand … I'd happily give volunteers who compete a tour an extra vote.
