There are some women that are naturally beautiful, but everyone (including men) can benefit from expert makeup applications.

I take it as someone preferring honesty (the real appearance of her) over deception

I was surrounded by girls who didn't wear any while I was growing up. I find light makeup nice but drops off quick

So makeup just distracts me once I notice it. And even slightly unnatural colors weird me out.

But the way it's word here is pretty dickish.
