it depends on the degree of force and its application.
Lumberjack axes are very forceful (although they cut)

plants just don't die from internal bleeding or organ failure like animals do

If you hit it hard with a sharp instrument like machete and cut it down. Even then some might come back unless u uproot it.

yes. but it would just be easier to use an axe. Bark is tough and does not easily give. it's like an exoskeleton.

Sort of depends on the plant, and conditions. Many plants will survive being razed to the ground if their roots are intact.
