I realllly did not appreciate the degree to which people just lie about other people on the internet and it's just... taken as fact? For example: I often joke about throwing insane parties; I sometimes have joked about playing drug roulette, where ppl get a random drug 1/

How are you confused? It’s feasible that someone who does orgies would also do drug roulette parties. And joking on Twitter/internet is often hard to decipher.

?? it's feasible that i also throw parties where we parade down the street in costume, but i would be equally confused if someone was like "don't trust aella, she does parties where people parade down the street in costume." like ??? i have literally never done this thing

I think you may not appreciate the difference in how much you think about your life/tweets and how much a stranger on Twitter does. If a tweet gets two seconds of brain space, that’s already a lot.

Randos on Twitter don't pay as much attention to you as you do to you would seems to be the most obvious answer. They have the rough outline of who you are and what you think and if they hear something that fits with that, they probably won't go and check in much detail.

It’s weird to me that people lie but puzzled why you mind in this case. The claim seems to be you have done something you’d be happy to do. I feel I am not understanding properly. Also I’d really like to go to one of your parties.
