I've started viewing some surveys as art - how do I construct a beautiful survey, that conveys something subtle and creative? How can I use data playfully, to illuminate things through novel expression? My chaos and ego death surveys are direct results of this question.

In a lot of areas, I'm a big believer in "fuck university, learn it yourself", but this seems like an area that one could learn a ton from a good university program. Since you clearly love this stuff and seem to be good at it, have you thought about pursuing it as a career?

I am already getting paid for it, so im technically already a professional? But overall if I wanna learn I just need to set up a good tutor arrangement, would be waaaay less infuriating for me than going to a school.

Depends what you want to do with it, I guess. A degree can start to establish 'credentials' in a way self-teaching can't, and in certain areas and contexts credentials are important. Seems to me there'd be a bunch of cool high-end opportunities for someone good at this stuff...
