the ideal way to invite me to something is to gently lay down a full invite with everything i need to know - date, time, dress code - in my inbox, say 'just show up if you want', and then back away slowly. i probably will never respond but 2% chance i will just show up

someone did this with an invite to stay in a tiny castle in france for 2 weeks with a collection of random strangers he was also inviting from across the world and he gave me all the info i needed to know and so i just flew to france and showed up
