Your timeline is way ahead of pretty much all the experts. Also, you’re assuming that progress will continue to be exponential. It could turn out that technological progress is actually sigmoidal and levels off before anything super paradigm changing manifests.

My point was just that futurists have a tendency to talk about the future as if it can only be very good or very bad, while neglecting real possible futures which are only moderately good or moderately bad. I hope the foom happens, but I don’t think it’s guaranteed.
