Go check your inbox spam filter - The ratio of garbage to real is overwhelming. It’s everywhere, you just don’t notice it because it’s just we’ve had time to build decent defences. But GL building fast enough defences to this new gen of garbage creation

yea, maybe i have more weight on something like "If we've built defenses before, we can build more, especially if we now have better AI tools to build better defenses". i view the attention ecosystem very similarly to biological ecosystems; if u overfeed, you die

It’s easy to produce garbage (examples in tweet below) Bc of virality/growth incentives + low barrier to entry on TikTok, we’ve seen further shortening of the trend and news cycle. And ofc, TikTok is a bit more of a peak into the future landscape than other platforms rn
