Friendly reminder that you’re always only one bad toothache or kidney stone away from incomprehensible levels of suffering and you can’t predict when it’ll happen or why.
And no amount of meditation will get you out of that hole, only drugs can save your ass.

interesting, I think my psychedelic use has made me significantly less afraid of inescapable torture. I wonder if this is a difference between meditation and meditation on psychedelics - you can stop meditating whenever you want, so inescapability is less pronounced?

are you less afraid of being trapped in inescapable suffering because you experienced states of terror on psychedelics that felt infinite and required learning deep equanimity?
I can understand losing the fear of death, it’s less clear to me how to lose the fear of infinite pain
