Not just compromise in general.
"ultra eligible" women *really* don't want to ever lower standards, which creates narrative problems. Embarrassing to be excited to your friends about that CEO before and then have to go on a date with some SWE.

fwiw the 'incredible' here is not really referring to social status - mostly stuff like intelligence/emotional processing/compatible life plans/good at poly/etc.
Yeah, I was reminded of your sentiment there. Just a general example.
