Is it possible to have monarchy today?

As Curtis Yarvin (Moldbug) points out, every successful corporation in the world is run as a de facto monarchy (by the CEO), with some accountability to a Council of Advisors (Board). So, in terms of powerful organizations, monarchies out-number 'democracies' many times over.

but i usually think of passing-down-through-bloodlines as being a defining factor of a monarchy, where who the monarch is largely isn't decided by anyone else in power (or if it is, it's decisions between a very small group of ppl with claims ot the throne)
Fair point. Many monarchies have been hereditary, though they don't have to be.
Good point. We shouldn't royalize the idea of CEO and corporations.
Technically all one-man rule is monarchy, but I do think it's worth noting that hereditary rule provides one of the key advantages of monarchy, which is that because the country will be passed on to their posterity, the monarch is incentivized to think beyond their own lifetime.
