i think my kink survey was great. Obvs not perfect, but for one amateur i think i knocked it out of the park with design and execution. 1/

designing a survey that compresses a huge amount of questions into an easily takeable format is *extremely hard* and in hindsight i think i made really good tradeoff calls.
also i think my question phrasing was largely really solid (tho would still do some tweaks) 2/

but most of all i explicitly designed it to be viral in a way that would have minimal impact on the reliability of results, and then it *did go viral*, and i got the amount of data that would have cost ~$2-300,000 if you used a service that paid test takers

all of this took (what was for me) a huge amount of work that was largely invisible to everyone else, I had to learn programming, I had to research over 800 fetishes to know how to categorize, I had to design a survey results system (it was actually really good and data-based!)

I am really proud of myself that I, solo, managed to see from start to finish a big project that had to progress through many different steps and types of challenges, and I think I largely (though ofc not entirely) made really good calls and would like a high five thank you.

(i often casually drop that i got 470k responses to my kink survey in random conversations and i feel like im glowing with pride although usually most ppl do not understand what this means or why it is cool or how much skill and effort it took to get that)
