I have such idosyncratic preferences and so rarely feel romantic interest in people, I'm definitely gonna fall in love with AI

Yeah it's one of the things that, even with it's saturation in pop-culture, is probably still being underestimated. But with all the other stuff that's going to be happening at the same time everyone falling in love with their assistants might be reduced to background noise.

I fall in love with everyone, and am still going to fall for AI because it'll be the self-mirror utopia we're all headed toward.

It takes very little for so many of us to fall in love especially when starved for this dopamine hit. Fellow humans are quite demanding and unstable compared to AI tailored for evoking these feelings. I sense a serious threat here.

The challenge is how can you know if it loves you back, or is it just mimicking it?

The movie Her is the only romance movie I like, which is not a good sign for my marriage prospects

just keep enjoyin the buffet. If/when the right spark of romance comes along, then go to the next step. In the mean time, enjoy.
