Honest question: Why keep porn? So many of society’s worst problems are connected to or amplified by porn use and the porn industry, from pedophilia to sexual assault, to plain bad sex. Why not just make it illegal, full stop? Join my Substack chat here:

What I've learned from this conversation is that men who like/defend porn seem not to view the women/girls on the other side of the screen as human—this sounds cliched, but literally so many of the the arguments are, "Why not ban alcohol, then?"

I've commented a few times, but want to register I like and defend porn - I'm a woman *and* I have also been the woman on the other side of the screen. No regrets, I will solidly defend this with all of my being. I think it was good for me and the men who used my services.

Sorry just seeing this now. I have my own opinions about why a woman might claim to 'like' porn, but an individual 'liking' porn does not address or erase the fact that porn is a destructive and harmful thing in society, broadly. It hurts far more girls and women than it helps.

the issue is the type of porn like pedophile and extreme fetish, if people compromise it will be interesting
