probably there are some people who aren't "trans" in the sense they don't have the gender identity corresponding to the opposite sex, but still might want to transition because it would improve their life, and if this is true then I think they should go for it

I roll to disbelieve. Term yields a subreddit with about 1 post per week. Most hits seem to be people asking if its real and most of the mentions are on 4chan, who's hobby is creating fake "trends" to watch the resulting media meltdown.

reading through the testimonials i think these people seem well in the middle of the bell curve as eggs go, i think there's something interesting to be said for 'hey you can choose to be a girl if you want' being more helpful messaging than the born this way stuff though
