We discover a cure for pedophilia; three injections and it fades away, permanently and completely. Assume we make it easily and discreetly accessible to everyone.
Would you support releasing currently-imprisoned pedophiles if they took the shots?

Idk I’ve had “ugh I could just slap this person” thoughts and didn’t act
Having those urges would suck but you still have to choose to act rather than just quietly hate yourself for it

I think there's a lot of things this is true for, but also a lot it's not true for. Like, probably you could also name some things you often do that you probably couldn't choose to not do even if a lot was at stake.

No, on the grounds that its clear they've already done something. And its the doing thats the issue not the thought.

What if we made lifelike child robots with which pedophiles could interact as they please in privacy?

Wack result, they're not in prison for being pedophiles, they're in prison for victimizing children.

Reduced sentences I guess because it takes away the need to lock them up for safety reasons but they still need to do time for retributive reasons. Plus it would probably be unfair to their victims to see the person that harmed them evading part of their punishment.
