Have no reason to think they're not same.
We know they've changed over time -- one sex doesn't seem broadly happier than the other.

Unless I am feeling extreme ups or downs, I have to really think about how I am feeling.
If so am slightly happy or slightly unhappy, I am unaware unless I consciously reflect.

Women score higher on trait neuroticism, which I assume is best predictor of “natural resting happiness set point”

My sense is women are (on average) physically healthier but more prone to depression so I said lower setpoint (I’m not that sure on physically healthier though)
