Why even do when airports are moving the majority of the line behind the boarding pass checkpoint? I just skipped a whopping 10% of the security line, the subscription is not very worth it

I've saved a lot of time with Clear... especially during busy travel season in AUS. Checking ID usually the biggest bottleneck in my experience.

Perhaps you went on a slower day with a lower relative benefit? If you fly more frequently through busy hours, you’d probably see the value of it more clearly

If you fly enough, you buy Clear to hedge against the 1-2 flights/year in the long tail of security wait time distribution… if it saves you one missed flight per year, it probably pays for itself just with avoided rebooking fees

Benefit on average vs during an outlier event is diff.
During high volume events that airport security can't dynamically ramp capacity it can be the diff b/t a missed flight. Value depends on conseq to you.

TSA precheck is far superior, but I use that combined with Clear some days & it’s a good combo
