we're not cool, I visit my mom but try to avoid him, we exchange occasionally a few minutes of talking about a techy object level thing like once every two years and this time the minutes were about AI

I just find it interesting he would willingly talk to you about something so sterile like tech and not try and reconnect on a deeper level. Just enjoy exploring these weird human interactions between two people who are so close and so very very far apart.

they are still together, divorce is a sin. He was very abusive to me when I was growing up and I have no interest in having a relationship with him, but I still have to see him occasionally cause my mom lives with him.
