ok since 'eugenics' seems to mean 'coercion' to so many people, and nobody has suggested a different word that is explicitly noncoercive, we should come up with a different one. What about Epilogenics? "epilogí" is greek for 'choice' instead of the 'eu' which means 'good'

ok i genuinely don't get eugenics stigma - isn't "don't let siblings marry" or "abort a fetus if tests positive for a horrible genetic disease" eugenics? which most ppl seem to support? Am I misunderstanding what people mean by eugenics? Is there a diff word I should use?

I'm with you on this. Eugenics gets a bad wrap because of its association with forced eugenics. I think it's reasonable to take steps to make sure your own kid is going to be healthy.

They're not umbrella terms, but "birth defect reduction" covers your two examples, "gamete markets" describes parents paying for cooler babies. Epilo isn't a bad stab at it, but also I think it's import to name specific policy proposals rather than a genre of them when possible.
