I think all of the "the first amendment doesn't apply here" people should be on a list. Those are suppose to be general principles we all agree to, if your goal is to abuse those principles in private industry we should be aware.

I'm not sure I agree with this? I immensely value freedom of speech, but I've always seen the first amendment as a kinda technical rule about government. I'd rather we come up with a different phrase than the first amendment to refer to the general value of letting ppl talk

sure, but it sounds like people don't have a problem with it, they're just saying it doesn't apply. Like, I have a "no lying" principle that doesn't apply in circumstances where I'm dealing with people who want to hurt me. not within the scope of the rule.

It’s both a rule and a norm is my point I suppose. The rule only applies to state actors. The norm is something people apply in life or biz. It’s been fine for censorial politics to infect corporations for the last ten years, kind of cool for libertarian politics to do so now.
