Correct. If someone marketed companionship the exact same way content creators market themselves, they would generate high client interest but many of those clients may not be compatible in terms of ideal “date” experience an escort wants.

yeah for me the price does the filtering that matters, but I could see marketing style being more important for ppl with lower rates

The price might do some filtering. But at a higher rate the display of social competence is important. You need to blend in to a client’s social surroundings, and your marketing would need to demonstrate that.. which is why you see some of the marketing material you do.

Imo demonstrating high social competence and demonstrating the femme romantic ideal are mostly orthogonal, but i do agree that femme romantic ideal signalling does indicate that u care about aesthetics

I mean the standard for how women are judged in social settings that would correlate with those you encounter at higher rates is more in line with femme romantic ideals than with what caters to male sexual gaze.

I am just guessing here but I think a part of your thought process is influenced more by your ideal for work experiences than what is probably the “norm” ideal. You are a person who seems to eschew interests like fine dining, exotic travel, luxury lifestyles.

*Your* marketing speaks to that. You correctly target your niche of high earners who are less conventional. Most escorts marketing in the way you discuss as “off the mark” are targeting clients who are the more typical.

but like, is it so niche if I was so successful? if my marketing is making me more money than people targeting another niche, if the market were smart everyone would copy my marketing until it corrected itself

Successful in what sense and relative to what other escorts? I don’t want your clients and your niche doesn’t interest me or represent me. Your clients don’t do the things for you that I want my clients to do for me so why would I replicate your marketing?

Additionally, you can be successful in the niche that you’re targeting but that doesn’t mean you have broad appeal, and you’d probably make more money if you weren’t so niche. Plenty of women are probably out-earning you because they market themselves elegantly and shower daily.

Would your mind change based on how much money I was making, or would you figure out a new argument for every income level I might have had?
No, it wouldn’t — because the amount of money you make doesn’t impact what I said. A niche can sometimes be very profitable. And so can broad marketing appeal, particularly in this industry where being conventionally attractive carries a lot of weight.

Personally I would imagine that as a conventionally attractive person you could’ve been just as successful, if not more, by targeting a broader market. But you’ve said already that you get bored easily, so I can see how the typical client might bore you by being too “average”.
