It's contextual. I didn't talk shit about the pope in front of my grandma while the Catholic church scandals were breaking. Am I self censoring there? Yes. In a socially destructive way? Doubtful!
It depends. I am an atheist, but I've given talks about gender ideology in churches and saw no reason to disparage religion in that context. If somebody had specifically asked me about my religious beliefs I would have told them, but I wasn't there to talk about belief in God.
the notion of the right to not be offended or upset being normalized has lead to the clown world of today. people not speaking up has contributed to this also.
really depends, girl. I went with "a little good" because i'm willing to talk about most things in that set....the things I will be quiet about are too much for most people to mentally deal with healthfully without preparation.

I have friends who are devout Christians.
If we talk about it, we'll disagree, & things may get awkward, uncomfortable, or unpleasant for one of us.
So, we don't talk about it.
Just respect the beliefs of others by not talking about it.
It's really that easy.
Totally depends on the circumstances. Like, does the belief have any real world effects within that group? Then it's probably bad to stay quiet. Is there an understanding that opinions may differ, and it's best just not to talk about it? Probably good then.
Very situation dependent. Being quiet about my lack of religious faith around my elderly religious loved ones hurts no one and makes them happy in their twilight years. Being quiet about horrible policies creating a cancerous work environment within my job allows them 2 continue
